JESUS WANTS TO BE MY FRIEND FOREVER
“’Come and follow me,’
Jesus said.”
MATTHEW 4:19, NIrV
Who can you follow?
I CAN FOLLOW JESUS.
CUDDLE TIME
Cuddle with your child this month and pray, “Dear God, we want to follow Jesus and love people the way He loves us, but sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes we don’t want to share or be kind or forgive. Please help us love people like Jesus, even when we don’t feel like it. We really do want to follow Jesus. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

FORGIVENESS : DECIDING THAT SOMEONE WHO HAS WRONGED YOU DOESN’T HAVE TO PAY
FATHER AND OLDER BROTHER • LUKE 15:21-32
“Put up with one another.
Forgive one another if you are
holding something against
someone. Forgive, just as the
Lord forgave you.”
COLOSSIANS 3:13, NIrV
WHEN YOU DON’T FORGIVE,
YOU MISS OUT.
BED TIME
It’s true that forgiveness is hard. But forgiving someone isn’t just about them, it’s about you, too! When you forgive, you can have peace. Forgiveness sets both you and the other person free. Are you missing out on something right now that you could change through forgiveness? Pray that God would show you any place in your life where you’re holding onto anger and help you forgive.

Jesus said.”
MATTHEW 4:19, NIrV
Who can you follow?
I CAN FOLLOW JESUS.
BATH TIME
Add two dolls or action figures to bath time. Tell your child to bathe his/her doll/action figure and you are going to follow what he/she does when you wash your doll/action figure. Thank your child for showing you how to bathe your doll/action figure. Talk about how God sent Jesus to show us how to love people. When we follow Jesus, He always leads us the best way.

FORGIVENESS : DECIDING THAT SOMEONE WHO HAS WRONGED YOU DOESN’T HAVE TO PAY
THE STORY OF THE LOST SON • LUKE 15:11-24
“Put up with one another.

EVERYONE NEEDS
TO BE FORGIVEN.
DRIVE TIME
Grab a special treat through the drive through and ask your child, “Is there anyone at school, home, or church that you need to forgive or that needs forgiveness from you?” Remind them that everyone needs to be forgiven and tell them about a time you had to choose forgiveness or when someone forgave you. Forgiveness can be as sweet as the treat you are enjoying, so don’t miss out—go for it!

WHEN HAS SOMEONE
FORGIVEN YOU?
DRIVE TIME
While in the car, ask your preteen, “Is there anything that is keeping you from forgiving someone?” Try to talk through it; what happened, why it’s hard to forgive, and then how we can lose when we choose to not forgive someone. Tell about a time you had to choose forgiveness even when you didn’t want to.

TAKE THE FIRST STEP
TO FORGIVE OTHERS.
BED TIME
God says that loving others means making the first move. Whether you need to be forgiven or whether you need to forgive, if something is wrong between you and someone else, you need to take a step to make things right. You might even say that choosing to make peace with others through forgiveness is one of the best gifts you can give God! Pray that God will help you make the first move to forgive.
