“For this reason, therefore, I have asked to see you and speak with you, since it is because of the hope of Israel that I am wearing this chain.” – Acts 28:20

Paul was imprisoned and chained for no other reason but to tell the Romans about the Gospel. Nothing else made sense why he was in this position as an innocent man. God was using him to do his greatest work.

Do you complain about your situations? Or do you realize I am here for a reason – I am going to this school…working with these people… living in this neighborhood…because Jesus has an assignment for me to preach the Gospel? It’s “because of the hope of Israel that I am wearing this chain?”

Lord, help me to remember why I am here. Sometimes it may be difficult, but it is for the advancement of your gospel and for these people that you have placed me here. Help me to have a good attitude today and live with enthusiasm for I am here for the advancement of Jesus!
