What We Value

The foundation of everything we do

The foundation of our beliefs is the infallible truth in the Bible, which we believe is the inspired Word of God. We believe that salvation is a free gift of God afforded to us by the death and resurrection of his one and only Son, Jesus Christ.

Why We Exist

We exist to express the saving transforming power of Jesus through Big Faith, Radical Discipleship, and Spiritual Family.

Our Values

Big Faith

We Will Do The Impossible

Our expectations are determined by who God is and how he has determined to use us. We move through life filled with hope, confidence, and boldness because he is working on our behalf. Big faith is also essential for every Christ-follower to answer God’s call to establish Jesus’ rule and reign on the earth through spreading the gospel and making disciples.

Radical Discipleship

We Will Be Transformed

We are willing followers of Jesus becoming like Him in our thoughts, our words, and our actions. This transformation is the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We will relentlessly pursue this process through the practices of spiritual disciplines. As God transforms us we will help others be transformed through radical discipleship.

Spiritual Family

We Will Love One Another

We will build a community of people connected together by God’s calling and purpose. We will serve and work together to love each other creating environments that catalyze human flourishing. God will use this spiritual family to reveal himself to the world.

What We Believe

Southpoint Community Church Beliefs

At Southpoint we believe there are certain essentials that define the people of God. While we do understand that we may never agree on every Biblical doctrine, we recognize that there are essential doctrines upon which faith must be grounded:

The Bible

We believe that the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments are the fully inspired Word of God and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and practice.

Psalm 19:7-11
2 Timothy 3:16
2 Peter 1:20-21

Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 6:4
Isaiah 45:5-6
John 17:3
1 Timothy 2:5
1 Corinthians 8:4-6
Genesis 1:26
2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His miracles and his sinless life. We believe in the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ; and in His ascension into heaven where He now intercedes for all that believe and that He will one day return to the earth in power and glory.

Luke 1:26-38
2 Corinthians 5:21
John 1:1-3
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Luke 24:50-51
Hebrews 9:28

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit personally indwells every child of God perpetually working to bring about the rule and reign of Jesus. It is by the Spirit that we expect to be transformed into the image of Jesus. We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not only in existence and available to those who believe, but are essential to our personal spiritual growth and to the life of the Church.

John 14:16
Acts 1:8
Acts 2:38
1 Corinthians 12:1-11
1 Corinthians 13

Man

We believe that man, created in the image of God, rebelled against His Creator and as result incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God. We also believe that all are sinners and share in common the consequences of sin.

Genesis 1:26-27
Genesis 3
Isaiah 59:1-2
Romans 3:23
Romans 6:23

Salvation

We believe that eternal life is the free gift of God, available to all and made possible by the redeeming blood of Christ, shed on the cross; and that one can only be saved by true repentance and faith in the finished work of Christ.

Romans 6:23
Romans 5:9
