Day 20 Prayer Guide – Saturday

Scripture:

“Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. If I say to the wicked, “You shall surely die,” and you give them no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.” – Ezekiel 3:17-18 ESV

Observation:

Like Ezekiel, God has made you a watchman. As God’s watchmen we have a great responsibility to warn people of where their sin is leading them and to point them to the hope of eternal life and forgiveness of sins found in Jesus. When God places someone in our path and we don’t warn them, their blood is on our hands. We could have warned them and led them to Jesus, but we didn’t. Therefore, we are guilty.

Application:

What keeps you from speaking into someone’s life to save them from their sin? Is it fear? Self-centeredness? Apathy? Whatever it is, it is no excuse for neglecting the responsibility to warn them in love to save their life! You are a watchman. Your words could save someone’s life today! Don’t neglect this responsibility.

Prayer:

Father, thank you for showing me how great my responsibility is as a watchman. Thank you for giving me the words of eternal life and warning. All I have to do is obey and tell them to those you have placed in my path to warn in love. Help me today to speak the truth in love and be used by you to save those who are running toward hell. In the mighty Name of Jesus, Amen!
