“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.” – I Corinthians 3:6-7 ESV

Sometimes we are the first to sow the seed of the gospel into someone’s life. Other times we are watering the seed. This could be by the way we treat people, love them and continue to tell them about the Jesus someone originally told them about. But the true miracle worker is God. Only He can truly save a soul. Only He can regenerate someone & make them a new person by giving them a new heart.

It’s easy to start thinking we are the stuff when God uses us to win someone to Jesus. But we need to remind ourselves that salvation is a miracle that only God can perform. Knowing this helps us to realize that our gospel presentation doesn’t have to be perfect. We just have to show up, and give it our best in obedience. God will make the miracle happen as we obey. God honors humble obedience. Next time you are feeling insecure or prideful about leading someone to Jesus remind yourself: God made it happen!
