This guide is broken down into two forms of teaching. Repetition and dictation. Keep dictation sections (where it says “teach”) brief.  The “examples for repeating” sections  are there to help guide you in what to have your child repeat after you. You will want to personalize these sections to the individual child’s life.

Teach: Praise and thank the Father for how good He is.

Examples for repeating:

“You are my Shepherd. Thank you for watching over me and taking care of me.” 

“You are my provider. Thank you for giving me everything I need.” 

“You are my peace. Thank you for helping me to not be afraid.” 

“You are my healer. Thank you for healing me.” 

“You are my righteousness. Thank you for teaching me how to be like Jesus.” 

“You are my protection. Thank you for protecting me.” 

“You are with me. Thank you for never leaving me.” 

“You bless me. Thank you for blessing me.” 

“You forgive me. Thank you for forgiving me.”

Teach: Ask the Father to make Jesus king of your life.

Examples for repeating:

“Jesus, be my King.” 

“Help me to love and obey your word.” 

“Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that our family and friends  will be able to obey you.” 

“Holy Spirit, help me to bear your fruit. Help me to have love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control.”

Teach: Ask the Father for all that you need in order to live like Jesus would live if Jesus was you.

Examples for repeating: 

 “Father, teach me and my friends your word.” 

 “Help us to know and understand the Bible so that I can obey it.” 

“Father, heal my grandpa of diabetes.” 

“Father, help my dad to get a good job.”

Teach: Ask the Father to forgive you for disobeying Him, as you forgive those who have hurt or offended you.

Examples for repeating: 

“As I forgive those who have hurt me, forgive me, Father, for ignoring my mom when she asked me to clean up my room yesterday. Lord, help me to be a better listener and quicker to obey.”

“Forgive me for not being grateful and instead complaining and having a bad attitude. Help me to be grateful.” 

“Forgive me for being mean to my sister or brother.” 

“Forgive me for being dishonest. Help me to be truthful”

Teach: Ask the Father to protect you and those you love with His armor.

Examples for repeating: 

“Lord, protect my friends and me from the devil.” 

“Protect our thoughts with the helmet of salvation.” 

“Protect our hearts with the chestplate of righteousness.” 

“Protect us from the enemy’s attacks with the shield of faith.” 

“Protect us from the enemy’s lies with the belt of truth.” 

“Help us to stand our ground against the devil by wearing the  the cleats of peace that come from believing the gospel.”
