Presence

The presence of Jesus is the origin of our faith. The greater our experience of His presence, the greater our faith — or BIG FAITH. When faith is high, the impossible gets done. On a practical note, we want to create an environment in which His presence is experienced via worship, preaching, and various artistic expressions (“How shall they hear unless…”). One way this is accomplished is by maintaining the highest standard of excellence we can resource. Changes to our auditorium in the areas of sound and projection are paramount to accomplishing this level of excellence.

Face-to-face Christianity

When we first built DOC’s into our Rotunda, we did it to do “Discipleship Over Coffee.” This stemmed from our deeply-held belief that making a disciple was something done on a one-to-one basis as much as possible. We still believe the kind of disciple Jesus desires at SCC is a “RADICAL DISCIPLE.” We still believe face-to-face is the best way to align with the Great Commission. In order to produce a better environment, we want to remodel DOC’s and increase its usefulness for one-to-one appointments.

Family

From day one, we have determined that Jesus would build us as a Great People on a mission together. These people would become our friends, friends of our children, men and women we walked life out with, and — maybe equally as important — people we laughed with, partied with, cried with, and just plain enjoyed. They would become our SPIRITUAL FAMILY. In order to create more and better environments for this, we will redo parts of the Rotunda and build a pavilion on the back of the lake. This will provide an amazing place for all sorts of gatherings.
