At Southpoint Community Church we believe it is vital that God’s people be joined together by mutual love for Christ and full submission to His Lordship.  While we do understand that we may never agree on every Biblical doctrine, we recognize that there are essential doctrines upon which faith must be grounded.

 

 

- We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the fully Inspired Word of God and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and practice.

 

- We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

 

- We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His miracles and His sinless life.

 

- We believe in the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ; and in His ascension into heaven where He now intercedes for all that believe and that He will one day return to the earth in power and glory.

 

- We believe that man, created in the image of God, rebelled against His Creator and as a result incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God.  We also believe that all are sinners and share in common the consequences of sin.

 

- We believe that eternal life is the free gift of God, available to all and made possible by the redeeming blood of Christ, shed on the cross; and that one can only be saved by true repentance and faith in the finished work of Christ.

 

- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost.  The saved are saved unto the resurrection of life, the lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

 

- We believe in the existence of Satan, archenemy of God and in the reality of spiritual warfare.

 

- We believe that the Holy Spirit personally indwells every child of God and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not only in existence and available to those who believe, but are essential to our personal spiritual growth and to the life of the Church.

 

- We believe in and practice the sacraments of the historic church, that being Baptism and Communion.
