The following steps are necessary to become an active member of Southpoint Music Group:
- Church Attendance... A minimum of two months of Southpoint Community Church (SCC) attendance is required and serves to introduce the ministry vision, style, and corporate expression to a guest. Our hope is that a guest would soon be added by God to the SCC spiritual family.
- Audition... The audition process standardizes the degree of musical excellence required for public ministry within SCC and facilitates the proper placement of each gifting within the church body. Appropriate SMG leadership meets to audition, encourage, and place each individual within a section or group that is best suited to their current ability and sensed potential ability within the SCC family. (See additional information on the audition schedule below.)
- Biblical Foundations... Whether in a formalized class setting or in one-on-one meetings with a current SCC member, an interested team member must complete the Biblical Foundations text (often referred to as the "Purple Book") as a verification of salvation and deeper introduction to SCC core values.
- Membership Class... Upon completion of Biblical Foundations, the interested team member enrolls in the SCC membership class to visibly and corporately solidify their commitment to this SCC family.
- SMG Rehearsals... Attending four weeks of group rehearsal (the last two weeks consecutively) will familiarize a new team member with the presentation material and regulate a consistent level of excellence and preparation immediately.
